Persons wishing to enter the industry as licensed security (unarmed), security (monitoring) and crowd controller in Queensland, must have completed the 14m core competencies within the CPP20218 – Certificate II in Security Operations course. This qualification reflects the role of a security officer, responsible for maintaining safety and security by patrolling, protecting or guarding property while unarmed, and screening entry, monitoring and removing persons from a premise.
This entry-level course for security personnel will equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to provide quality security services to clients, operate radio, video recording or alarm equipment, patrol premises, control entry/exit points, perform screening of items or people and work with teams as a crowd controller. Our experienced trainers ensure each participant gains valuable skills that they can use in many areas throughout their career.

There are no formal prerequisites.
Participants should possess adequate (Year 10 equivalent) reading, writing, numeracy and comprehension skills to complete learning and assessment activities.
Entrants must also be 18 years old and have no criminal convictions within the last 10 years.
